The 2011 iTen Wired Summit took place on September 9, 2001 at the University of West Florida.
The iTen Wired Summit is a consortium of information technology entrepreneurs, gathering annually to discuss the latest trends and best practices of the field. This event focused on “Leveraging Education & Technology.”
An array of speakers from around the Southeastern United States visited Pensacola and presented a variety of topics include social media for businesses, healthcare IT, workforce resources and best practices, UWF research and mobile development, UWF alumni success stories. Additionally, an economic update from UWF’s Dr. Rick Harper was presented.
The featured keynote speaker was Theresa Brunasso, an alumnus of the University of West Florida and founder and president of D & S Microwave. Brunasso is a 30-year veteran in the field of electrical engineering.
iTen Wired was hosted by University of West Florida and commenced at 7:30 a.m. with registration, UWF leadership presentations and keynote in the morning. The event continued with breakout sessions in three tracks - Technology, Workforce & UWF Spotlight. These sessions featured presenters from UWF and local businesses such as AppRiver, ActiGraph, KAMedData, O’Sullivan Creel, Coco Design, Studer Group, and H2 Performance Consulting.
The program concluded around 2 p.m. and was immediately followed by tours of the School of Science and Engineering.
Louis Erickson, Bit-Wizards COO, attended the event and was pleased to see the good turnout and positive feedback from many of the attendees.
